We are a new, not-for-profit organisation. We intend to deliver an innovative concept for residential palliative care in Somerset.

Hamersley House is to be established in close proximity to Castle Cary, Somerset, UK.
Set in landscaped gardens, the Centre will provide a safe haven - a place which allows for personal reflection away from the unwanted pressures and responsibilities of daily life in the home.
MISSION
To provide residential palliative care and other palliative care services of the highest quality on a not-for-profit, fee-paying basis, enabling individuals with a life-limiting illness to live the remainder of their life with dignity in a compassionate and uplifting environment.
VISION
To extend the provision of palliative care by offering a choice of how and where those with a progressive, incurable illness can spend the remainder of their life. Our prime objective will be to offer continuity of care on a longer-term residential basis with the advantages that this confers on people unable or not wishing to remain in their own homes; our facilities and complementary therapies will also be available to people needing respite and day care.
OBJECTIVES
-
To provide a building which internally achieves a balance between homeliness and care provision.
-
To provide 16 spacious bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and a sitting area with access to the garden.
-
To provide 2 rooms free of charge or at a reduced fee.
-
To provide 2 bedrooms with en-suite shower room and kitchenette for the use of relatives.
-
To offer services to all adults with a shortened life expectancy irrespective of where they live.
We are committed to the emerging integrated approach to healthcare which ensures people receive the treatment most suited to their particular condition and individual needs.
We plan to offer a full range of complementary therapies in order to provide a comprehensive approach to palliative care.
This web site explains what we aim to achieve and its content is being continuously developed as the project evolves.
